This is an autobiographical novel by the writer, poet and publicist Eduard Limonov, written in 1977. It is the confession of a Russian emigrant who is trying to settle in America, to fit into the system without buckling under it. Not agreeing to compromise, overcoming bans, he seeks to preserve himself and his truth in these – new and alien – conditions.
